New to bars and bodyweight training or coming back after a break? This beginner-friendly class builds strength, mobility, and confidence with clear progressions. You will learn safe technique and the core skills of calisthenics in a supportive, small-group environment.
Calisthenics is for everyone. In this class we focus on movement quality first, then add intensity. Each session follows a simple flow: joint prep and mobility, skill blocks on bar, rings, and floor, core conditioning, and a short finisher. Expect to learn the basics like strong hollow and arch shapes, safe hanging mechanics, assisted pull-ups and ring rows, push-up and dip foundations, grip work, and wrist care. We scale every drill so you always have a version that suits your level.
Keep it simple, label everything, and avoid jewellery during class.
Coach Jamie, Aaron and the Bar Monkey team specialise in guiding beginners through clear, safe progressions. Expect simple cues, positive feedback, and a focus on getting the basics right so everything else becomes easier.
